The OULS mooting workshops, held at the beginning of August, proved to be a great success.
Covering key topics such as oral case citation, legal research and constructing skeleton arguments, the workshops aimed to develop practical legal skills, and provide a head-start for those students who may wish to take part in the upcoming internal mooting competition (date TBC).
Feedback given by those students who attended was very positive. Some of the commentary received included:
“A very enjoyable day, which significantly surpassed my expectations. Thank you to everyone who gave up so much time to host the event.”
“I had a very enjoyable and valuable experience. I would recommend it to any student studying law.”
“Greatly beneficial, and even if a student does not take part in mooting, the research section was very useful.”
“Brilliantly organised, everybody running it was lovely and very helpful. Thank you!”
The next event in the OULS calendar will be the internal novice mooting competition, which is expected to take place in London in mid to late October, after all the law module exams have finished.
More mooting workshops will be arranged next year. You can be kept informed of all the updates on the OULS Facebook page.
